Abstract:
Following the implantation of the EHEA, we have designed new Operating Systems courses for the University of Vigo. Besides revising the topics we have been teaching for years, we found an opportunity to completely transform the "practical part" of the course, since we have moved from 45 hours of in-lab teaching to 37.5 hours of individual practical work per student, plus 50 hours of practical groupwork. Thus, we can arrange more ambitious, enlightening and motivating tasks. Our plan is to make experiments with real open-source systems, following the guidelines of problem-based learning to develop state-of-the-art features available to the community.
